Small-group classes

Small groups run weekly in ninety-minute blocks, four students to a tutor. Groups are built around the exam board and tier rather than the year alone, so the work in front of the room is the work everyone will sit.

At £28 an hour each it is the cheapest way to work with us, and for some students it is simply the better room.

What you get

Why four students works better than one, sometimes

Cheaper per hour, and some students work harder with three others in the room.

Four to a tutor, never more

Small enough that nobody hides, big enough that a student hears someone else ask the question they were embarrassed to ask.

Grouped by paper, not by age

Students are placed by exam board and tier as well as year, so the whole ninety minutes is spent on work everyone in the room will actually sit.
“The small group suited him better than one to one. Four boys, same paper, no hiding.”
Daniel O.
Year 11

Ninety minutes, weekly

Long enough to teach a method and then use it on a full question under something close to exam conditions.

Termly update for parents

A written update each term with the marks from the in-class papers and what the tutor is working on next.
